Forum Rules

Welcome to the Applied Neuroscience Society of Australasia (ANSA) Member Forum! To ensure a productive and respectful environment, we ask that all members adhere to the following rules:

  1. Content: Please only use this Forum for professional exchange on all matters of applied neuroscience, neuromodulation, neurofeedback. We welcome information and resource sharing, questions and collegial networking.
  2. Classifieds: Members wishing to share resources including products, training and services relevant to the ANSA community may post such information once per month. Only services, products or events related to brain function, health, neuroscience, biofeedback , assessment and/or treatment are able to be shared on this Forum. For such posts, the subject line MUST begin with the word: “Advertisement”.
  3. Confidentiality:
    1. Member privacy: Forum postings are not permitted to be forwarded to anyone outside of the subscribed users;
    2. Client privacy: if seeking specific consultation advice or referral options for a specific client, this Forum is not the appropriate place. Please ask (and share) about topics and information related to neuromodulation, but without reference to specific client characteristics which may compromise confidentiality, or which could be construed as a request for consultation on particular client.
  4. Forum etiquette:
    1. Know your audience: Please consider whether your post will add to the discussion in an informative way that will be of value to others, or whether it is best to send it privately. Please refrain from posting administrative messages “thank you,” “me too”, “remove me from the list” or personal comments that are directed only to the individual who sent the email. Before you send your message, check the “To:” field to determine if your message is addressed to the whole list or just the sender of the email.
    2. Use the subject line: Make the subject line descriptive so that recipients have a flavour of the message from glancing at the subject line, and can search archives by subject.
    3. Respect and courtesy: Treat all members with respect and courtesy. Disagreement is a natural part of professional discourse, but personal attacks, insults, or inflammatory comments are not appropriate for this Forum. Users may not use language or post content that is, including but not limited to, unlawful, harassing, abusive, defamatory, obscene, scandalous, inflammatory, pornographic or profane, or otherwise unprofessional. Users also should be cautious with humour and sarcasm in this professional Forum.
  5. Email Frequency: We want this Forum to bring members together, but we all have different preferences for email frequency. Choose the option that suits you (each email / digest or abridged / no email), by managing your subscriptions in Google Groups (be sure to use the email address your ANSA membership is linked to), click the Down arrow for the ANSA_Member_Forum.
  6. Responsibility and warranties: Forum members acknowledge that they are responsible for the information they submit and have full responsibility for the posting, including its legality, reliability, appropriateness, originality, and copyright. ANSA as a society accepts no responsibility for opinions and information posted on the Forum. ANSA disclaims all warranties with regard to information posted on this site. In no event shall ANSA be liable for any damages resulting from or in connection with the use of information posted on this site. Posts to the Forum are not legal advice, nor should any professional or clinical information shared on the Forum be relied upon by providers in their practice, without independent professional consultation. ANSA makes no warranties regarding the confidentiality of messages sent to the Forum. Users cannot assume that confidential or sensitive information posted to this Forum will remain so.
  7. Defamation: Do not post defamatory content on the Forum. Members are reminded that defamation laws in Australia prohibit the publication of false statements that harm the reputation of individuals or organizations. Be cautious in discussing legal, business, or personal matters. If unsure, seek moderator approval before posting. All members are personally responsible for the content they share and may be held liable for any defamatory material. This includes:
    1. False claims or accusations about other members, individuals, or entities;
    2. Any unsubstantiated statements that could damage someone's reputation.
  8. Copyright: Users may not post information or other material that is protected by copyright or use any words, logos, or other marks that would infringe upon a trademark or other intellectual property rights without permission of the owners.
  9. Moderation: ANSA reserves the right to moderate discussions, remove posts, or suspend members who violate the rules or ethical guidelines. Repeated or severe breaches of these rules, including violations of defamation laws, may result in permanent removal from the Forum. ANSA reserves the right to modify or discontinue the Forum at any time. The lists of subscribers also will be audited periodically to maintain the security and integrity of the Forum for the benefit of the members.
  10. Reporting Violations: please report any issues, questions or violations of these rules or the Ethical Code of Conduct, to the Forum moderator or secretary@appliedneuroscience.org.au.
