SUMMARY:PART B: Post-conference workshop\, 3-4 Aug 2009
LOCATION:Mantra Tweed Heads
DESCRIPTION:https://appliedneuroscience.org.au/event-52814\n\nA-Z of QEEG\, ERPs and Neurotherapy\n PART B: Post-Conference Workshop\n * Advanced concepts of EEG\, QEEG and ERPs: \n\n August 3-4 2009 \, \n\nMantra at Salt Beach\, Kingscliff\n Gold Coast - New Tweed Coast\n \nJuri Kropotov & Jay Gunkelman\n * * Day 3: Morning\n Topics:\n * Event related potentials (ERPs) as markers of stages of information flow in the brain\n\n * Association of ERPs components with functioning of brain systems\n\n * Reflection of dysfunction of brain systems in ERPs components.\n\n \n Educational objective:\n * Methods of Event Related Potentials\, including\n\n * averaging technique\n\n * Independent Component Analysis (ICA)\, as well as\n\n * to show the discriminative power of ERPs in ADHD\, dyslexia\, traumatic brain injury.\n\n Procedure: \n Lecture\, practicing with EEG records of healthy subjects and of patients from the HBI database.\n \n Day 3: Afternoon\n Topics:\n * Recording of EEG in Visual Contingent Performance Task (VCPT)\n\n * Preprocessing of EEG\n\n * Computing ERPs by averaging technique\n\n * Comparison of behavioral parameters (omission and commission errors\, latencies and variances of responses) with the normative data of the HBI database\n\n * Comparison of ERPs with the HBI database\n\n * Comparison of ICA components of ERPs with the normative data.\n\n \n Educational objective:\n * to use Psytask software for presenting tasks provided with the HBI database\n\n * to record EEG in one of the tasks (such as VCPT)\n\n * to compute ERPs and behavioral parameters\n\n * to analyze ERPs visually and to make maps as well as LORETA images of\n\n * ERPs components\, and\n\n * to compare ERPs and ERPs components with the HBI reference database.\n\n Procedure: \n The attendees will be divided into groups. Each group will be\n supplied with hardware/software for recording and analysis. One of the attendees will serve as a subject (to be recorded) while the others will record An EEG. The VCPT task will also be recorded and analyzed.\n \n Day 4: Morning\n Topics:\n * Neurofeedback and tDCS as tools of neurotherapy\n\n * Neurotherapy for peak performance in healthy subjects\n\n * Neurotherapy for correcting cortical dysregulation in brain disorders\n\n * Neurotherapy for correcting disorders of information flow.\n\n \n Educational objective: \n methods of Neurotherapy\, including\n * QEEG-based neurofeedback\n\n * s-LORETA neurofeedback\n\n * ICA-neurofeedback\n\n * ERP-based neurofeedback\n\n * transcranial Direct Current Stimulation\n\n Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS).\n \n Procedure: \n Lecture\, practicing with EEG records of patients from the HBI database and constructing neurotherapy protocols.\n \n Day 4: Afternoon\n Topics:\n * Analysis of EEG records made during the first days\n\n * Constructing neurotherapy protocols for peak performance by using the recorded EEG files\n\n * Analysis of EEG records of patients from the HBI reference database\n\n * Constructing neurotherapy protocols for treatment\n\n \n Educational objective: \n * To use the HBI reference database for constructing protocols of neurotherapy.\n\n \n Procedure: The attendees will be divided into groups. Each group will be supplied with an HBI database. The records made during the first days will be analyzed and neurofeedback protocols for peak performance will be suggested. Several records of patients of the HBI database will be analyzed.\n
