Dr. Moshe Perl, born and raised in Melbourne, received his training in psychology in the United States. He specialised in Clinical Psychology, with Behavioural Medicine and Neuropsychology as subspecialties, completing his Ph.D. in 1982. After working in the United States for ten years he returned to Australia, where he has continued his practice. He has worked extensively in schools, as well as at the Children’s Court, as an expert Forensic Psychologist. He has taken additional training in family therapy, as well as Hakomi Therapy, a psychotherapeutic method used in individual counselling. Twelve years ago, Dr. Perl began using Neurofeedback in his practice, and has found it to be an effective tool to help people with a variety of disorders, including ADHD, learning difficulties, depression, sleep disturbances, anxiety, panic and migraine. Over the years, Dr. Perl has made numerous presentations to professional bodies on a variety of topics, such as the MMPI, ADHD, and Neurofeedback Dr. Perl is registered to practice as a Psychologist in Victoria. He is a member of the Australian Psychological Society, and belongs to the Colleges of Clinical as well as Forensic Psychology. He is a founding member of the Australian branch of the Society for Neuronal Regulation (the largest worldwide professional organisation for neurofeedback practitioners) as well as a member of its Board.
In his practice, Dr. Perl emphasises the need for a variety of interventions in order to deal with the often complex nature of psychological difficulties which people face. For that reason he utilises psychological assessments, individual and family therapy approaches and neurofeedback when appropriate to help resolve psychological issues and improve well-being.
Dr. Perl is married and has three children. His current interests include hiking, photography and Tai Chi.
